Frequently Asked Questions...
What is the age limit? Our students start as young at 4 years old! All students train at their own pace, with promotions being awarded due to individual progress. In this way, a 65 year old man and a 5 year old girl can complete the same course, each progressing at their own level. Since size & strength aren't factors in TKD, women & children tend to do especially well. Many people who have not been satisfied with conventional sports find TKD to be an excellent physical activity. |
What is Taekwondo?Taekwondo is a very unique & effective method for self-improvement. As the most popular martial art in the world, TKD is considered to be one fo the most beneficial activieis that can be performed by persons of any age. This powerful kicking & punching style was developmed over 2,000 years ago, and has since evolved into a science of body movements that most people find challenging both physically and intellectually. |
What is the meaning of the color belts?Every student starts with a white belt. After a few months, students may take their first test. They are tested on basic technique, forms, breaking and sparring. In our school the belt sequence is Yellow, Green, Blue, and brown. Between each color is a half-step represented by a stripe of the next color. Then comes their Black Belt. |
